Even though I am based in Australia1, this legislation applies to even lowly bloggers like myself because I have many European readers and subscribers to my newsletter.
Generally, I fully support this legislation and believe it's going to change the web for the better. The EU is about to tip the privacy and personal data balance in favour of consumers instead of big business and I welcome the change.
My updated policy fully disclosers how and why I collect user information -- mostly through third-party services, which are all (they tell me) compliant with the GDPR.
As an Australian citizen and resident, I am bound by the provisions of the Australian Commonwealth Gov. Privacy Act. ↩
