About

I was born in Church Village, a small town about ten miles north Cardiff in South Wales. With my family, I immigrated to Australia in the mid 1980s, where I was educated and have spent roughly half of my professional life.

After three years living in Bristol, England, I now live in Melbourne with my wife, Bonnie and my nine-month-old son, Aneirin. I earn my living as technical writer for one of Australia’s largest engineering companies.

I started writing as a serious hobby at fifteen years of age. Professional writing was something I only remotely considered because at the time I was determined to become an archaeologist. By my early twenties however, archaeology became sidelined to medieval and Tudor history. When I graduated from my undergraduate degree in 2002, I moved in with my girlfried (now wife) and was faced with a choice. I could either pursue an academic career or do something more vocational but still suited my interests. I chose the latter and after successfully completing a masters degree in editing and communication, I began a career as a technical writer.

I created this site in mid 2007 as an outlet for my interest in creative writing, in particular fantasy and science-fiction. I also hope it will help bring focus and direction to my new projects. Since then it’s been little more than a sidelined and oft neglected project but I soon hope to expand the content.
